FQPL Round 21 Preview: Power eye Premiership glory

July 13, 2018

Peninsula Power can claim the inaugural Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) Premiership with a victory over Ipswich Knights at AJ Kelly Park on Saturday evening.

Elsewhere around the league, Souths look to continue their winning streak as they take on Logan Lightning in a top four clash while Sunshine Coast Wanderers play to stay in finals contention in Round 21.

Two teams hungry for victory

Holland Park Hawks will be looking for their first win in five games when they take on Mitchelton FC at Teralba Park on Friday night.

Can Power claim Premiership?

Unbeaten this season, Peninsula Power can claim the inaugural FQPL Premiership with three points against Ipswich Knights at AJ Kelly Park.

Power will bring plenty of confidence to the game after defeating Wide Bay Buccaneers 12-0 last weekend.

Ipswich Knights have been held to a draw in their last two games and haven’t won a game since Round 16.

Sunshine Coast Wanderers v Wide Bay Buccaneers
Ballinger Park Buderim Field 1
Saturday, 14 July, 6.00pm

Wanderers looking for two from two

Sunshine Coast Wanderers will be looking for a repeat performance of their Round 8 victory against Wide Bay Buccaneers when the two teams meet again this Saturday night.

Wanderers won 8-0 in a dominant performance last time the sides met and will need the three points this weekend if they are to stay in finals contention.

Wolves FC v Rochedale Rovers
Carmichael Park 1
Saturday, 14 July, 6.00pm

Can Rochedale get back to winning form?

Wolves FC host a finals-hungry Rochedale Rovers side at Carmichael Park on Saturday night.

Rochedale Rovers sit one point outside the top four after 20 rounds of the FQPL and will be keen to find some consistency after winning only one of their last seven games.

Logan Lightning v Souths United
Cornubia Park 1
Saturday, 14 July, 6.00pm

Top four clash

After a hard-fought draw last weekend, Logan Lightning will be aiming for three points when they host Souths United on Saturday night.

Souths have won their last four but will need to continue their winning form if they are to secure their finals spot.

Lightning will look to bounce back after having to settle for only one point in an entertaining 3-3 draw against Ipswich Knights last Sunday.

Southside Eagles v Eastern Suburbs FC
Perry Park 1
Sunday, 15 July, 5.00pm

Finals in sight for Easts

Eastern Suburbs will look to further strengthen their spot in the top four as they take on Southside Eagles at Perry Park on Sunday evening.

The home side will bring some confidence to the game after a win against Mitchelton last round while Easts had to settle for a point in a 3-3 draw with Rochedale Rovers on Monday night.

With finals in sight, Easts will need to get back to their winning form if they are to remain in the top four.
