Virginia United FC is one of the largest Football Brisbane clubs with 59 teams across all age groups, but managed to maintain one of the best disciplinary records throughout the 2019 season despite its size. The Football Brisbane Club of the Year works to develop the skills of local community players and has built a strong relationship with Brisbane City FC to provide a pathway for its players who want to play at the next level.
Logan Lightning FC had an exceptional year, claiming the FQPL Premiership in all junior age groups and in the Under 18 and Under 20 competitions in 2019. Of these six Premiership-winning teams, five made it to the FQPL Grand Final. 60% of the club’s teams made it to the Finals Series in 2019, while 45% of teams qualified for Grand Finals and 25% of sides won their Grand Final.
Musgrave Mustangs SC is an extremely proactive community club that takes great care in creating a family environment and knowing the names of all players at the club. Musgrave Mustangs run regular multicultural days to foster inclusion in the community, and have set up a weekly program for children with disabilities.
One of the most diverse clubs in Queensland, Logan Metro FC is a community-oriented club with a huge focus on servicing its members and welcoming them into the club family. The club is extremely engaged with the Logan community and recently surpassed expectations in their impressive FFA Cup run to reach Round 5.
The 2019 Football in Queensland Awards Night will be held this Saturday, 2 November in the Grand Windsor Ballroom at the Pullman Hotel in Brisbane.
A variety of awards will be presented on the night, recognising the outstanding achievements of individuals and clubs at both community level and from FQ’s Premier competitions.
