The Queensland football community has shown it remains connected as ever, even throughout the challenging times presented to us following the suspension of football activity due to COVID-19.
Though we may be physically apart and away from the football field, we’ve seen fantastic digital engagement from our initiatives launched following the announcement of the temporary suspension of football activity, and we want to thank you all for your ongoing support through these times.
All four new initiatives outlined below have reached a combined audience of more than 540,000 people to date, and garnered positive feedback from our football community across the state.
MiniRoos Recess
Football Queensland (FQ)’s MiniRoos Recess Challenges with Kerry and Zac have reached over 180,000 people since kicking off at the end of March.
The first of the daily challenges received an incredible response, with over 200 post shares thanks to support from our zones and clubs across the state.
MiniRoos Recess Challenges are posted on the FQ Facebook page at 11am from Monday to Friday, to keep youngsters active from home throughout the suspension of football.
We’ve loved seeing videos of our MiniRoos from across Queensland enjoying the challenges from home, so keep sharing your videos with us using #MiniRoosRecess and #RecessChallenge
Backyard Drills & Chills
Our Backyard Drills & Chills sessions are designed to keep Queenslanders active and working on their football skills from home, with FQ coaches and QAS players demonstrating new drills throughout the week.
The Backyard Drills & Chills videos have reached over 130,000 people so far, and are posted on the FQ Facebook page every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
