Three Queensland-based female referees will officiate A-League Men’s matches for the first time this season after being selected in Football Australia’s 2021-22 A-Leagues Match Official Panels.
Casey Reibelt, who has officiated in the A-League Women’s since its inception in 2008, will this season also serve as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and Referee for the Men’s competition.
Likewise, Misuk Park and Lara Lee, who are both experienced A-League Women’s referees, will this season work in the Men’s competition as an Assistant Referee and Assistant VAR respectively.
The news comes as 16 Queenslanders were selected in Football Australia’s Match Official Panels for the 2021-22 A-Leagues season.
Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said the significant number of Queenslanders is further proof of the state’s longstanding contribution to Australia’s referee ranks.
“I would like to congratulate all 16 Queensland referees on being appointed to officiate matches in the upcoming A-Leagues season,” said Cavallucci.
“Over the years, Queensland has produced some of Australia’s top referees including the likes of FIFA World Cup officials Tammy Ogston, Mark Shield and Jarred Gillett.
“The fact that three Queensland women have been appointed to roles in the A-League Men’s competition is fantastic news as we drive growth in female referee numbers across the state.”
The Queensland-based A-Leagues Referees are:

- Adam Kersey – A-League Men’s Referee
- Alex King – A-League Men’s Referee
- Casey Reibelt – A-League Men’s VAR, A-League Women’s Referee
- Lara Lee – A-League Men’s Assistant VAR, A-League Women’s Referee
- Ashley Beecham – A-League Men’s Assistant Referee
- Andrew Lindsay — A-League Men’s Assistant Referee
