Football Queensland has today announced the junior and youth squads for the 2023 National Futsal Championships which will be held in Melbourne from Monday, 9 January to Friday, 13 January 2023.
Hosted by Football Victoria, the 2023 edition of the tournament will welcome close to 1,000 participants and over 100 teams from across the country.
“Football Queensland is excited to announce our Queensland junior and youth squads for the 2023 National Futsal Championships as our best male and female players prepare to represent the state on the national stage across 10 age groups,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“This year’s FQ Futsal State Titles have been the launchpad for state team selection for the 2023 national tournament as players were invited to trial for Queensland squads following strong performances at the two-day event in September.
“We’re also delighted to have appointed a number of highly skilled coaches to lead our state futsal teams as they compete against their peers from across the country.
“These coaches have already begun working with their squads as our Queensland state team training program has gotten underway in preparation for the January event.
“We look forward to seeing our young Queenslanders shine on the national stage as they compete against their peers from around the country at the 2023 National Futsal Championships, and on behalf of Football Queensland I’d like to congratulate each of our state team players on their selection.”
Queensland’s Open Men, Open Women and AWD squads will be announced in the coming weeks.
