Following previous confirmation of a staged transition to the Squadi platform for all clubs and participants across the state, Football Queensland has confirmed that the remaining regions and competitions will transition to the Squadi platform prior to, or by March 1, 2023.
For participants, players, parents and spectators, there will be very little you are required to do other than simply download the app by March 1st and start enjoying real time information that is easier and simpler to access.
With the rollout of the initial pilot commencing in the Northern region (Townsville) over the last four weeks, Football Queensland’s Squadi implementation team has worked closely with Football Australia to deliver integration technology linking the Play Football system to the Squadi platform. All Play Football registrations to date will continue to be automatically ported across, preloading participant profiles in the Squadi platform.
The transition to Squadi represents a critical step in improving the football experience and lowering the risks impacting the game’s delivery. Currently, the administration and delivery of football in Queensland requires the use of multiple fragmented systems; Football Queensland has worked closely with WSA to continue to tailor the Squadi platform, to streamline additional facets of Queensland football operational functions.
We now have a single, integrated competition management system allowing clubs and participants to access real-time information on results, draws, ladders, referees, rain delays and fixture changes within the Squadi platform, removing unnecessary duplication of effort for clubs, reducing the workload for club volunteers and participants, ultimately saving clubs significant time and money.
No more chasing information on rain delays, kick off movements or field changes, these will be automated across the platform and you will be automatically notified.
An extensive range of training resources and guides for clubs, participants and referees are freely available on FQ’s Squadi Hub. To support the transition that will occur after March 1st the information below will help explain many of the changes. Whilst players, participants and parents are unlikely to require any training, outside of watching a few 60 second videos should they require, for club administrators and referees Football Queensland will deliver 15 statewide Squadi implementation sessions over five weeks in preparation for the transition to Squadi on March 1, featuring training and Q&A sessions for all clubs, participants and referees commencing next Monday, 6 February.
The training schedule has been designed specifically to accommodate club volunteers, providing multiple opportunities to access training at convenient times based on their schedules. A full suite of training videos are also available to be viewed any time and should be viewed prior to attending a Q&A session.

In addition to the Squadi implementation training sessions which will be delivered in the coming weeks, additional support will be available within the Squadi platform through the TAWK Help Desk for any queries relating to the platform functionality.
TAWK is a help desk function embedded within Squadi which uses a ticket-based system to manage system-related errors, managed full time and available daily during business hours.
As the statewide transition to Squadi continues over the coming weeks, the Squadi and GameDay platforms will continue to be run in parallel until March 1, from which date all competition management functionality will be managed within the Squadi platform for every region and competition across the state.
