The Premiership could be decided in Round 22 of the National Premier Leagues Women’s (NPLW) Queensland while teams will be looking to lock in finals spot.

Moreton Bay United will host The Gap in the Match of the Round on Sunday, a game that could help decide the first trophy of the season.

The NPLW Queensland Match of the Round will be available live and on demand on the FQ website, FQ Facebook and FQ YouTube.

Both teams are coming into the clash off the back of solid results with Moreton Bay putting 10 past SWQ Thunder last round, while The Gap ended Gold Coast United’s undefeated streak in a 6-1 win.

For Moreton Bay, this is an important match to win if they want to keep the pressure on Lions FC at the top of the table.

A loss to The Gap and a Lions victory against SWQ Thunder on Saturday will see Lions claim the Premiership this weekend.

Despite being separated by 10 points on the table, it is set to be a close match between Moreton Bay and The Gap after Moreton Bay came away with a 3-2 win when they met earlier this season.

Moreton Bay have been clinical in the final third which has seen them become the highest scoring team this season.

The Gap however do have a formidable back line and have conceded the second least amount of goals this season, just behind Lions.

Eastern Suburbs v Souths United
Eastern Suburbs sit four points behind Souths, who are currently in sixth with the top six teams making finals this season. Easts could put pressure on Souths in the next five weeks if they win on the weekend and have the potential to make their maiden finals series. Souths will need to turn their current form around to do so though, having not won a game since Round 15.

Lions FC v SWQ Thunder
No team has managed to stop Lions so far this season, with the team remaining undefeated after 21 rounds. A win this weekend and a loss to Moreton Bay on Sunday will see Lions claim the Premiership title this weekend.

Players to watch:

Tegan Riding (Lions FC): The former W-League forward will be looking to keep her scoring record intact having scored an impressive 26 goals in 20 matches.

Danielle Ward (The Gap): In her second game for The Gap, Ward scored her first goal for the club and had a solid performance in the back line.

Georgina Amos (Eastern Suburbs): Amos has scored six goals in four games which has brought her tally to 15 goals in 18 games this season.
