After a hard earned week off for the majority of teams, the FQPL gets right back into the thick of the action on Friday night when two promotion hopefuls lock horns in front of the Football Queensland cameras.
On Saturday there are plenty of interesting fixtures up and down the table whilst on Sunday two familiar foes play off for the second time in a week.

Finals spots up for grabs as Mitchie welcome Easts
Mitchelton and Eastern Suburbs get us started on Friday night at Teralba Park as the two old rivals lock horns for the first time this season.
A win for fifth-placed Easts could see them go as high as third ahead of the weekend’s other fixtures, whilst Mitchie would leap-frog Souths and put the Mustangs back into finals contention with a game in hand.
The hosts have had a couple of weeks to come to terms with their 3-0 defeat against Sunshine Coast – the same team Easts thumped 4-1 last time out.
Peninsula Power v Rochedale Rovers
AJ Kelly Park
Saturday, 16 June, 5:00pm
Can Power bounce back?
The runaway league leaders came crashing down to earth after being humbled 6-0 in the FFA Cup last week and will be hoping to bounce back against a Rochedale side who have not won in three.
Power have been unstoppable in the league thus far but Rochedale will be hoping to pry open some of the same cracks that Lions did on Saturday evening.
The visitors know all too well how tough Lions are to beat having exited the Cup at their hands at an earlier stage, but will take heart from the fact that the NPL Queensland side needed penalties to get past their defence after a 0-0 stalemate.
Logan Lightning v Southside Eagles
Chris Green Park
Saturday, 16 June, 5:00pm
Lightning need to be wary of dangerous Eagles
Second placed Logan have not played in the FQPL since being knocked out of the FFA Cup by Brisbane City last Tuesday night, and will welcome Southside Eagles to their alternate venue Chris Green Park on Saturday.
Another two teams who haven’t faced off yet this season, Logan will have to be wary of an Eagles side who have hit some fine form in recent weeks to go unbeaten throughout May.
The last time Logan played at Chris Green Park was in Round 1 when they drew 3-3 with Eastern Suburbs.
Souths United v Wide Bay Buccaneers
Wakerley Park
Saturday, 16 June, 5:00pm
Souths host the Buccaneers
Souths United welcome a Wide Bay side to Wakerley Park on Saturday night that are still searching for their first points of the season.
The Buccaneers have scored in each of the last four matches but will need to do more than just score if they are to come away with the points on Saturday against a Souths side that average just under three goals per game at Wakerley Park this season.
The two sides are yet to meet this season after their Round 4 clash was another that fell victim to the weather.
Capalaba Bulldogs v Holland Park Hawks
John Fredericks Sportsfields
Saturday, 16 June, 5:30pm
Can Bulldogs stop the rot against the Hawks?
It’s ninth against eighth at John Fredericks Sportsfields on Saturday night as the Hawks look to pile on the misery to a Bulldogs side that haven’t won since Round 6.
Holland Park have won two of their last four but were humbled last time the two sides met at Whites Hill Reserve, losing 7-2 – their joint heaviest defeat of the season.
The Bulldogs have recorded two high-scoring draws in their past three matches, showing that they are getting close to the form that saw them win five of their first six matches at the start of the season.
Sunshine Coast Wanderers v Wolves FC
Ballinger Park
Sunday, 17 June, 4:00pm
Can we play you every week?
Rounding out the weekend’s action is Wolves’ trip north to take on Sunshine Coast in Buderim – the second time the two teams have met in a week after arranging their catch up from Round 4 last weekend.
The Wanderers won that one 5-2 and will hope to continue that run against a team that failed to win a single game in May, winning just one point in a 3-3 draw with Capalaba.
The Wanderers have got themselves back into the top four with two wins in their last three matches and could retake second spot on Sunday should Logan lose.
Ipswich Knights – BYE
It was the bye that upset the apple cart in the first half of the season for the Knights, who will be taking stock of their first win since Round 3 as they prepare for a tough test against Souths next week.
