Feature Match: Gold Coast United v Eastern Suburbs
Gold Coast United remain atop the table having won all but one match so far this season – a 2-2 Round 1 draw against this weekend’s opponents Eastern Suburbs.
Arguably the current Premiership favourites having recorded nine straight wins, the hosts come into the weekend off the back of a 1-0 defeat of QAS, with a Momo Hayashi goal the difference.
Gold Coast United boast the best goal difference in the league and should prove a considerable challenge for an Eastern Suburbs outfit with only one win to their name in recent weeks.
That win came in Round 6 against the QAS side, before Easts recorded a 3-1 loss against Logan Lighting in last weekend’s Round 7 match.
They’ve secured just one win in their last four matches but having held Gold Coast United to a draw at the start of the season, they’ll look to go one better come this weekend.

Capalaba FC v QAS
Capalaba FC can extend their winning run to six games this weekend with a victory over QAS in Round 12.
In their last four matches, Capalaba have recorded wins against two of the top three sides in the competition in Lions FC and Logan Lightning, while they also secured the three points against Gap FC last weekend and Eastern Suburbs in Round 5.
Prior to a Round 22 bye, they also recorded a dominant 7-2 win over Mitchelton FC so will bring plenty of confidence into this weekend’s clash with QAS.
When the sides met in Round 1 this year, Capalaba clinched a 2-1 win thanks to an 82nd India Kubin goal.
QAS have recorded only one win in their last five and will be keen to secure the three points against Capalaba after falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Gold Coast United over the weekend.
They did well to allow the ladder leaders just one goal, considering the Gold Coast side had scored 11 in their three games prior.

Gap FC v SWQ Thunder
SWQ Thunder will be boosted by their first win in four matches as they travel to take on Gap FC in Round 12 this weekend.
A Louise Rolfe double helped Thunder to a 4-1 defeat of Moreton Bay United over the weekend in a win that followed three straight losses to Souths United, Logan Lightning and Gold Coast United.
Hosts Gap FC meanwhile haven’t recorded a win since Round 22 against Mitchelton FC last month, and come into this weekend’s match off the back of a 2-0 loss to Capalaba FC.
Thunder will rely on the attacking prowess of Abbey Lloyd and Jascinta Perrin to help them secure a second straight win this weekend in what will be no easy feat against a Gap FC side also hungry for three points.
