The rebooted FFA Cup is set to return in 2021 and nominations are now open for Queensland clubs.
Football Queensland (FQ) is encouraging clubs throughout the state to complete the online entry form before the nomination window closes at 11:59pm on Friday, 22 January.
As a truly national knockout tournament, the FFA Cup gives affiliated clubs around the country, from the community level through to the National Premier Leagues, the opportunity to play on the national stage.
Clubs will be able to progress even further in 2021, with the winner to be awarded a preliminary round slot in the AFC Champions League pending adherence to AFC Club Licensing Regulations.
Queensland has again been allocated four spots in the FFA Cup Round of 32 within the following two qualifying zones:
South East Queensland (3 Qualifying Spots)
- Sunshine Coast Football, Football Queensland South West, Football Brisbane* and Football Gold Coast
*All Brisbane-based clubs have been entered by Football Brisbane and do not need to complete the online entry form.
Central & Northern Queensland (1 Qualifying Spot)
- Football Wide Bay, Football Queensland Central, Football Queensland North (including Far North), Mackay Regional Football Zone, Football Queensland North West
Matches in the South East Queensland Qualifying Zone are scheduled to begin on the weekend of 13-14 February.
Dates for matches in the Central/Northern Qualifying Zone will be determined by each zone once the nomination process is complete.
FQ is awaiting finalised Competition Regulations from Football Australia (FA) and will communicate this information as soon as it is available.
