All eyes will be on the Sunshine State this weekend when Puma F-League sides South Brisbane and Galaxy FC clash in a Queensland derby double-header.
The two clubs meet in potentially season-defining Men’s and Women’s fixtures at Eagles Sports Complex in Brisbane on Sunday.
South Brisbane and Galaxy will both be desperate for victory in the first ever Women’s derby with the winner to move above Dural Warriors into top spot on the ladder.
The two sides, currently second and third respectively, are in top form heading into the match after both claimed maximum points from last weekend’s double-header in Canberra.
It’s just as tight in the Men’s competition as the Gold Coast side sit one win ahead of their sixth-placed capital rivals.
Honours were split between the two Men’s teams in last season’s match-ups as South Brisbane gained revenge for a 5-4 defeat in May by winning 6-5 the following month.
Galaxy grabbed two wins from their trip to the ACT last round while South Brisbane returned with a victory and a defeat.
All four teams open their weekend against Sydney-based East Coast Heat at the Logan Metro Sports Centre on Saturday.
Saturday’s matches begin from 11.30am, while the Queensland derby double-header kicks-off with the Women’s clash at 10.00am.
