Queensland referee Casey Reibelt will add to her major international tournament experience at next month’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
The experienced Westfield W-League referee has been appointed to the match official panel alongside fellow Australian Sarah Ho.
Based in Brisbane, Reibelt was named Westfield W-League Referee of the Year in 2014 and received her FIFA Refereeing badge the same year.
The former AFC Project Future graduate is also part of the FIFA 2019 Women’s World Cup Candidates Program.
Football Queensland State Referee Development Officer David Wiebe congratulated Reibelt on the appointment.
“Casey can be proud of her achievements this year and is thoroughly deserving of international recognition,” Wiebe said.
“If she performs to her usual high standard this opportunity will only enhance her chances of being selected for the 2019 Women’s World Cup.”
The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be contested by 16 teams from 13 October to 3 December.
