Dylan Wenzel-Halls has been rewarded for his outstanding National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland form with the ultimate prize, a one-year contract with three-time Hyundai A-League Champions Brisbane Roar.
The lethal Brisbane-based striker joins the Roar from Western Pride, where he has scored 23 goals in 11 matches this NPL Queensland campaign.
“We’re extremely pleased to secure the services of one of Queensland’s most exciting football talents,” Brisbane Roar Head Coach John Aloisi said.
“Well done to Dylan for consistently performing at a high standard during the past two seasons at NPL level for Western Pride.
“His performances have not gone unnoticed and on behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to welcome Dylan to our Hyundai A-League squad for season 2018/19.”
Roar’s new recruit said he’s over the moon to be given a chance to shine on the big stage.
“Words can’t describe how happy I am to be back at arguably the most successful club in Australia, to play for my home town team is an outstanding opportunity,” Wenzel-Halls said.
“My focus at NPL level has been to improve my game, influence football matches and perform consistently in the hope I’d be given another chance.
“I can’t wait to play in front of our home fans, do my best for BRFC and make the most of this opportunity. I want to repay the faith John Aloisi and the football club have shown in me.
“Finally, I’d like to thank my family for the support they have given me along with Western Pride and Graham Harvey.”
The signing comes just days after Lions FC announced midfielder Jesse Daley signed a one year deal with Major League Soccer club Seattle Sounders, where he will be part of the club’s second-team squad.
