International Football Coaching Conference Australia (IFCCA) has today announced Football Coaches Australia (FCA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Glenn Warry and Brisbane Roar FC Academy Head Coach Jose Barcala as panellists for this year’s conference.
Australia’s first national football-specific coaching conference in nine years, IFCCA will bring experience football professionals from around the world to RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast on Saturday, 25 May and Sunday, 26 May.
A specialist in learning and development and wellbeing strategies for talent within sporting organisations, learning institutes and corporations, FCA CEO Warry boasts 30 years of experience with high performance sport environments and athletes.
Over the past 15 years, Warry has been at the forefront of progressing national holistic development and wellbeing programs, including the establishment of inaugural programs for Hyundai A-League and Westfield Matildas players, referees and national team coaches.
Recently, his work involved the facilitation of Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) national team high performance strategic planning, along with the formation of FCA.
“In partnership with all football stakeholders, FCA and its members are dedicated to promoting and strengthening the reputation of football in Australia, and the reputation of Australian football on the world stage,” Warry said.
“A key FCA objective is to implement world leading benchmarks, programs and practices to enhance the best practice and high-performance capabilities of Australian professional football coaches and players.

Warry will join ex-Socceroo Jade North, Brisbane Roar Westfield W-League player Allira Toby and Indigenous Football Championships founder Ramone Close on the Indigenous Football panel at the event.
Joining Warry as a panellist at the conference is Brisbane Roar FC Academy Head Coach Jose Barcala, who will be on a panel discussing Australian Professional Academies and how Australia compares globally.
A UEFA Pro License holder through the Spanish Football Federation and former Head of Academy Coaching with Spanish side Real Club Deportivo de la Coruna S.A.D, Barcala has been working as a youth development coach for close to twenty years.
Joining the Brisbane Roar in 2017 as Academy Head Coach, Jose is responsible for overseeing the progression of players within the Brisbane Roar Academy Teams.
In his teachings, Barcala focuses on learning processes associated with the positional superiorities of attacking football.
Barcala joins the likes of Sydney FC Academy Director Kelly Cross, Inter Academy Technical Director Marco Monti and Brisbane Strikers Technical Director Nacho Ferrer at the event.
IFCCA will bring together experienced football professionals from around the world to share knowledge with coaches of all levels, from grassroots and community coaches to those in the National Premier Leagues and at professional clubs.
