International Football Coaching Conference Australia (IFCCA) has announced that Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Deputy Technical Director & Head of Coach Education Wim Koevermans as a keynote speaker at the conference.
Koevermans joins Caltex Socceroos Head Coach Graham Arnold, Incoming FFA Technical Director Rob Sherman and Inter Academy Technical Director Marco Monti, among others, as a keynote speaker at the event, to be held at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May.
Beginning his career as a professional footballer in his youth, Koevermans played for various Dutch clubs and for the Netherlands national football team, before hanging up his boots and moving into the management of elite football teams across the Netherlands in the 1990s.
From 2002 to 2008, Koevermans coached the Netherlands’ Youth team prior to moving into a High Performance Director role for the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).
Following a stint as the temporary coach of the Irish U21 national side, Koevermans also spent two years as the National Coach of India.
His wealth of experience in Asia and globally brought Koevermans to his current role with the AFC in 2017.
The AFC Deputy Technical Director & Head of Coach Education will bring extensive insight to the conference and will share his knowledge of the education and development of both coaches and players.
