Ahead of the Westfield Matildas’ first game at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday night, Brisbane landmarks will go green and gold in support of the national team.
This Sunday, 9 June, nine inner-city Brisbane landmarks will be lit up green and gold for the day.
The Kurilpa Bridge, King George Square and City Hall, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, QPAC, Wintergarden and Broadway centres, the Treasury and Casino buildings, the Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge and the Tropical Dome at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Cootha will all be lit up in support of the Matildas.
The Westfield Matildas will take on Italy in their first game of the group stages, to be aired this Sunday, 9 June at 9pm.
