Football Queensland (FQ) has today released Return to Training guidelines and resources for clubs ahead of the recommencement of football activity from June 12 (Stage 2).
“The Return to Training guidelines have been developed by Football Queensland to support our clubs across the state, to ensure they are prepared to welcome participants back into a safe environment once training sessions can resume in Stage 2 from June 12,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“These guidelines and resources built for Queensland clubs have been adapted to align with the Queensland Government’s Return to Play Guide, and have been developed in consultation with medical authorities to ensure a safe return to our game for all involved.
“The Return to Training guidelines include conditions for all Queenslanders to follow once training resumes, including specific information on hygiene protocols, social distancing measures, and other requirements for participants, parents and clubs.
“We urge all Queenslanders to follow these guidelines to ensure all members of the football community can return to training in a safe and organised environment from June 12.
“Following the release of the Queensland Government’s Return to Play Guide for Queensland sport, Football Queensland reaffirms that sanctioned football activity across the state will remain suspended until June 12 in line with Queensland Government guidelines.
“The Queensland Government has made it clear that no indoor or outdoor formal organised individual or team community sport or training will be permitted in Stage 1 of the roadmap to easing restrictions.
“This means that no football or futsal activity is to occur until Stage 2 commences on June 12, when non-contact activity will be permitted for up to 20 people and clubs may resume training sessions as per FQ’s Return to Training guidelines.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to remind all participants and clubs that any training sessions, games and other football activity held prior to June 12 will not be sanctioned by FFA or FQ, and are therefore not covered by the insurance policies provided as part of your registration.
“In the meantime, I remind all members of our Queensland football community to download the COVIDSafe app and continue to practise social distancing as we work towards the recommencement of our game.”
