QPL3 Women
Round 13 in the Women’s competitions, and Saturday night at Highfields Sports Complex has all the billings for an absolute blockbuster as Highfields Gold (1st) take on Willowburn (2nd). The last time these two met, Gold took the points with a 5-3 win. Both teams are in red hot form and are coming into this game with 10-0 wins in their last matches.
Similarly Captain Cook on Sunday afternoon will be the venue for another showcase of women’s football in the region. As Rockville Rovers (5th) host South Toowoomba Hawk (3rd). A win to Rovers last weekend sees them primed and ready to crack into the top four, whilst Hawks will be boosted with confidence after their 4-2 win over USQFC (4th) last weekend.
USQFC take on Highfields Green at USQ this Sunday and this will be important match for USQ to maintain their spot in the top four. Any complacency or lack of concentration could be costly to their finals aspirations. Meanwhile, after a heavy defeat from their inter club rivals (Gold). Highfields Green will be looking for a much more positive reaction this weekend.
With games in hand, Rockville Rubies will see their Round 13 match versus West Wanderers as a possible springboard into a challenge for the top four. Sitting six points adrift, Sunday’s match at Captain Cook could be the catalyst for a mid season resurgence. Whilst, Wanderers will be looking to build a strong performance against USQFC the week prior.

With just one the men’s catch up fixture this weekend, all eyes will be on Middle Ridge Park on Sunday afternoon. The result could have a huge impact on the ladder standings after 11 rounds.
