It’s finals time and crunch time in both the FQPL 3 Women’s and Men’s this weekend! Here is a brief preview of what is to come!
Women’s
North Brisbane is on pursuit for the double as they look to defeat Toowong at home for a spot in the Grand Final. The home side are yet to taste defeat this season and will be hoping their run continues for the next few weeks. In form Mt Gravatt and Caboolture are set for a mammoth semi final at Dittmer Park with both sides fancying their chances on securing a spot in the final. Despite the gap between the sides in the league, the semi is set to be a much tighter affair.
Men’s
Western Spirit need three points at this stage of the season to keep their hopes alive of salvaging their spot in FQPL 3 when they host UQFC on Friday night. Pine Hills and Centenary Stormers lock horns on Saturday evening with Centenary looking to create some distance in the relegation battle. League leaders The Lakes face Toowong in what could be a tricky test considering their recent bulk of games. The Gap can move out of the relegation zone potentially with a win against Mt Gravatt when they play at Walton Bridge Reserve. Newmarket and Bayside do battle in an important fixture for both sides that could dictate league standings and potential play-off spots at McCook Park. St. George Willawong will look to bounce back from their recent form when they host Acacia Ridge in a potentially difficult match with the visitors defeating the home side in their last meeting.
