Football Queensland has today released the draw for the FQ Futsal State Titles, which will be held at Nissan Arena and Mansfield Sports Centre this Saturday, 24 September and Sunday, 25 September. 

Over 600 players from 16 clubs across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast will compete to be crowned FQ Futsal State Titles Club Champions as a new Club Championship model is introduced for the 2022 edition of the tournament. 

“Football Queensland is excited to welcome some of the state’s most talented futsal players to the 2022 FQ Futsal State Titles, with 78 teams set to play across 181 games in what will be a huge weekend for futsal here in Queensland,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said. 

“This year’s tournament will be particularly exciting with the introduction of the new FQ Futsal State Titles Club Champions Award, which will be determined through a points-based system that considers final ladder positions, points and goals per game and a range of other factors. 

“With the new club award on the line this year, we look forward to seeing our teams put their best foot forward as they take on high-quality opponents from various clubs.”  

“The FQ Futsal State Titles are a pinnacle event on the futsal calendar each year and form the primary pathway to state team selection for the National Futsal Championships, which will be held next January in Melbourne,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said. 

“This weekend’s tournament will be an important talent identification opportunity as members of Football Queensland’s Futsal Technical Advisory Group observe matches across both days to identify players who will be invited to trial for state teams ahead of the National Futsal Championships in 2023. 

“I’m looking forward to seeing our talented young futsal players showcase their skills at the FQ Futsal State Titles as they vie for selection in our state teams, and wish all of our participating players and teams the best of luck ahead of the weekend.”
