The draw for the first ever Kappa Pro Series has been confirmed ahead of the inaugural tournament kicking off in 2023. 

The brand new Kappa Pro Series has been introduced to provide players in Queensland’s top men’s competitions with an opportunity to gain additional match minutes against varied opposition through the year, complementing regular season fixtures and existing tournaments including the Australia Cup. 

24 NPL Men and FQPL 1 Men sides featured in the Kappa Pro Series draw, with a two-part draw held to determine the pools and fixtures. 

Draw Explainer 

Teams are first seeded and drawn into pools, separated into six pots of four based on their finishing position of the 2022 season and represented by a number (1-4). For this process, promoted and relegated teams have been seeded in the competition that they will compete in in 2023.  

As the numbers are drawn from each pot, teams will be placed into the four respective pools in the order that they are drawn.  

Once these pools have been drawn, the second part of the draw determines the teams’ position in the pool which will determine the fixturing. Due to there being six teams in each pool and each team playing each other once in the group stage, some clubs will host three games while others will host only two (to be determined at this stage in the draw). 

Following completion of the group stage, the Semi Finals and Final will be held, with the winner of each pool to progress to the Finals Series.
