Football Queensland has today confirmed the final composition of the NPL Queensland, FQPL 1, FQPL 2 and FQPL 3 – 6 Metro leagues for Men and Women in 2023.
The release of the final Declaration of Leagues follows the completion of the affiliation and licensing application process for clubs from the NPL Queensland to the FQPL 6 Metro.
“The introduction of Queensland’s connected football pyramid is continuing to reap benefits for participants and clubs across the state as a result of the Future of Football 2020+ competition reforms,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“2022 was an extremely exciting year as we witnessed high-quality matches, fierce competition and thrilling results across FQ’s top competitions.
“FQPL 3 Sunshine Coast Men’s side Maroochydore Swans secured the final spot in the FQPL 2 Men’s competition for 2023 with a win in the first ever FQPL 3 Men’s Play-Off Final while a number of other teams earned promotion across the Men’s and Women’s leagues, demonstrating the fantastic opportunity for progression for aspirational clubs who are part of the connected football pyramid.
“In recent months, clubs have been undertaking the affiliation and licensing application process to ensure they comply with the relevant criteria in order to be awarded a position in their attributed league.
“The composition of the NPL, FQPL 1, FQPL 2 and FQPL 3 – 6 Metro Leagues for the 2023 season can now be announced and we look forward to seeing these sides in action this year.”
