Football Queensland is excited to invite nominations for the 2023 Female Football Week Awards in recognition of the outstanding achievements and efforts of individuals and clubs across the state.
Award winners will be featured across the FQ website and social media channels during Female Football Week from Friday, 19 May to Sunday, 28 May as the Queensland football community celebrates the women and girls who make a difference in all parts of the game.
“With the Queensland Female Football Week Award winners going on to represent the state as nominees for the national awards, this really is a phenomenal opportunity to recognise members of our football community who encourage and inspire those around them every day,” Football Queensland Senior Manager – Game Development Kate Lawson said.
“Football Queensland has clearly outlined our ambitions to reach 50/50 gender parity by 2027 in line with the national target, a feat that would be impossible without the passionate leaders within our community.
“With the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ kicking off in less than 100 days, we look forward to shining a spotlight on these dedicated and deserving individuals and encourage all members of our football community to nominate a player, coach, referee, volunteer or club they see making an impact in the development of women’s football, both on and off the field.”
Any member of an FQ affiliated football club who not only exhibits extraordinary leadership, but also supports their community through their dedication of time, skill and commitment are eligible to be nominated for these awards.
FQ is inviting nominations across the following categories:
- FFW Player of the Year
- FFW Coach of the Year
- FFW Referee of the Year
- FFW Volunteer of the Year
- FFW Ally Champion of the Year
- FFW Club of the Year (state award only)
Nominations for FQ’s 2023 Female Football Week Awards will close at 5pm on Wednesday, 10 May.
