Football Queensland is excited to welcome Gareth Thomson into the role of Club Development Ambassador for the Wide Bay region.
Supporting Alec Wilson, Senior Manager – Club Development, Talent & Coaching, who works across the Central Conference, Thomson’s role will be centred within the Wide Bay region and focused on developing and upskilling clubs and coaches to contribute to region-wide growth and success.
“Appointing Gareth to this role is an exciting investment in our Wide Bay community; the addition of a Club Development Ambassador who works closely with our grassroots clubs will equip them with opportunities for growth and development across both the player and coaching space,” Acting General Manager – Central Coast Region, Jordie Gerbes said.
“Gareth will be a driver for strengthening the support for clubs in the region, conducting visits to assess and provide feedback for clubs’ development while assisting with coach education.
“Gareth brings valuable experience working as a Technical Director and a coach in both the elite and community space and has already been involved in FQ Academy training sessions and the recent FQ Academy State Carnival.”
Following his appointment, Thomson will become the point of contact for all FQ Wide Bay clubs while Alec Wilson will continue to provide support across the Central Conference.
