Football Queensland is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member Owen Pezet OAM. 

Serving on the Football Queensland Board of Directors from 2003 to 2006, Owen was awarded the title of Life Member in 1998 in recognition of his service to the game.  

Owen made significant contributions to football in Queensland through his work with Brisbane North and Districts Junior Soccer Association, North Pine United Soccer Club, and Queensland Junior Soccer Council where he served as President for 11 years. 

His involvement in the game also included roles in the Sunshine Coast Soccer Federation restructure working party, Coordinator for ball boys during the Australia/Columbia match in 1995 and coordinator of pre-match entertainment for the 1993 World Youth Cup. 

In January this year, Owen was recognised on the Australia Day Honours List and awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to football.  

As a familiar face on the sidelines, Owen’s contributions and legacy will not be forgotten.
