Football Queensland (FQ) is inviting clubs to get involved in NAIDOC Week festivities, celebrating Indigenous culture and achievements across the football community through activations and events.
NAIDOC Week will run nationally from Sunday, 2 July to Sunday, 9 July, concluding with Football Queensland’s Indigenous Round on the weekend of Friday, 7 July to Sunday, 9 July.
“Football Queensland is proud to celebrate NAIDOC week and all the First Nations people involved in our game at every level, from the grassroots to NPL Queensland,” Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“To further highlight the amazing work being done within this space throughout the state, we are once again inviting nominations for ‘Heroes of Change’, focused around the NAIDOC Week 2023 theme ‘For Our Elders’.
“First Nations members are an important demographic in our sport and Football Queensland encourages every club to embrace and recognise the rich cultures and histories this week, and every week.”
Football Queensland will be celebrating NAIDOC week with a range of digital content highlighting heroes of change from the community alongside creating club support content.
Community events and activations hosted by clubs during NAIDOC week will have the chance to be featured on the Football Queensland website and social channels.
