Football Queensland will welcome junior teams from across the state and country next September for nine action-packed days of football as it hosts the 2024 Pacific Championships on the Sunshine Coast in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council.
The Pacific Championships will expand on the legacy FQ Community Cup format to showcase club-based teams from community level to the FQ Academy Leagues from Saturday, 21 September to Sunday, 29 September 2024.
“As we continue to unite football in Queensland, we’re delighted to bring together all parts of our beautiful game by inviting teams from Football Queensland and other Member Federations to participate in the Pacific Championships alongside school-based sides and teams from the Queensland Christian Soccer Association,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Welcoming Under 11 to Under 16 boys and girls, the event will feature the Pacific Junior Championships, the Academy Championships and the State of Origin Cup, with participation also open to international teams who are seeking diverse competition and player development opportunities.
“After a hugely exciting year for our game in 2023, the Pacific Championships is set to be a highlight of the 2024 football calendar as we continue delivering innovative participation opportunities to inspire the football community.”
Football Queensland is now inviting expressions of interest from Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13 Boys and Under 12/13 Girls teams to participate in the 2024 Pacific Junior Championships.
