Football Queensland (FQ) has released details of the Coach Convention topics for the inaugural Queensland Football Convention, taking place on Saturday, 2 November, and Sunday, 3 November 2024, at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
“The coach convention, as part of the Queensland Football Convention, has been designed to include targeted sessions addressing critical topics essential for the successful development of coaches and their players in the landscape of the modern game,” Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The two-day event will serve as a crucial forum for innovative dialogue and collaborative exploration amongst coaches, offering attendees the chance to engage in transformative discussions, discover innovative solutions, and take part in interactive and insightful sessions.
“Featuring specialised sessions delivered by leading national and international sporting figures and professionals, the coach convention will cover topics such as Youth Development Stages, Player Well-Being and Assessment, making this event vital for any current or aspiring coaches looking to be at the forefront of our game’s evolution.”
The convention will present coach focused sessions based on the themes of ‘Growth,’ ‘Sustainability,’ and ‘Technology,’ covering the following areas:
GROWTH
- Fostering High Performance through Learning
- Know Your Team through Assessment and Profiling
- The Different Ages and Stages of Youth Development
SUSTAINABILITY
- Empowering Clubs and Coaches through Education (Part 1 & 2)
TECHNOLOGY
- The Future of Sports Technology that Provides Benefits
- Strength & Conditioning and Player Well-Being
Details about the speakers for each of the referee, coach and club convention sessions will be provided soon.
In addition to two days of convention sessions, the Queensland Football Convention will also include a cocktail networking event at the Sunset Lounge at Suncorp Stadium for Brisbane Roar Men’s home opener against Sydney FC, and the Football in Queensland Awards Night at Brisbane City Hall.
