Football Queensland (FQ) is pleased to announce the return of the Inter-Conference Junior & Youth Carnival for 2025, scheduled to be held at Mackay Football Park in partnership with Mackay Regional Council from Saturday, 3 May to Monday, 5 May 2025.
This year’s carnival will feature exciting match-ups for junior teams (Under 9 to Under 12 Boys and Under 9 to Under 13 Girls) and youth teams (Under 13 to Under 16 Boys and Under 14 to Under 17 Girls), bringing together over 1,000 talented players from FQ Academy regional programs across Queensland.
The Inter-Conference Carnival provides a unique opportunity for players to showcase their skills in a highly competitive environment, with talent identification coaches and FQ technical staff on-site to spot emerging talent and track player development.
“Football Queensland is excited to announce the return of the Inter-Conference Carnival in 2025, furthering our commitment to providing more high-intensity match minutes and development opportunities for junior and youth players across our regions,” said FQ General Manager – Football & State Technical Director, Gabor Ganczer.
“The carnival continues to play a vital role in the FQ Academy pathway, offering invaluable opportunities for talent identification and player development as our coaches and technical staff track the progress of players from across our Central and Northern conferences.
“The return of this event highlights Football Queensland’s ongoing dedication to delivering high-quality competition and expanding access to the FQ Academy pathway, which remains the only pathway recognised by Football Australia for state and national team selection.
“Football Queensland would like to thank the Mackay Regional Council for their ongoing support of our state’s up-and-coming stars by helping to create a memorable carnival for all involved.
“We look forward to welcoming all players, coaches, referees, and supporters to Mackay Football Park for what promises to be an exciting event for all.”
Mayor Greg Williamson said hosting the Inter-Conference Junior and Youth Carnival was an exciting opportunity for Mackay.
“This event will not only provide a welcome boost to our local economy, but it will also play a role in strengthening our region’s reputation as a premier destination for sports and youth talent development,” Mayor Williamson said.
“With more than 1000 players, families and supporters visiting our region, we are excited to showcase Mackay’s exceptional facilities and warm hospitality.
“Council is proud to play a role in nurturing the next generation of sporting talent and supporting them in the pursuit of their goals.”
