Football Queensland is delighted to recognise the 11 Queensland match officials appointed to the Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32.
The Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32 will run for two weeks in July and will provide an opportunity for some of our state’s most promising up-and-coming referees to officiate on the national stage for the first time, alongside some of Queensland’s experienced A-League referees.
“This announcement of 11 Queensland match officials appointed to the Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32 is a strong example of Football Queensland’s commitment to ongoing investment in referee development,” FQ Senior Manager – Leagues and Officials, Slater Asnicar said.
“With pathways and opportunities as a core pillar of the FQ Referee Strategy, our development pipeline is evidently working to prepare Queensland referees for opportunities like these.
“We’re proud to see two Football Queensland Referee Academy graduates appointed in the 11 Queensland match officials for the Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32. The appointment of these officials alongside some of Queensland’s strongest NPL referees, and FIFA officials Lara Lee and Alex King, is an incredibly encouraging reflection of the success of the pathways developing Queensland referees for high-level opportunities.
“On behalf of Football Queensland, we would like to congratulate the selected officials, and we look forward to watching them in action in the coming weeks.”
