Football Queensland is pleased to confirm the first four speakers for the 2025 Queensland Football Convention.
Following the success of the inaugural 2024 event, the 2025 edition will once again bring together clubs, coaches, participants, and industry professionals from across the state, providing a unique opportunity to drive the continued growth of football in Queensland – under the theme ‘Elevate the Debate’.
The first speakers announced for the 2025 Queensland Football Convention bring expertise from across football and beyond. Jon Moss is a former Premier League referee and current Football Australia Head of Referees, while Jeehoon Kim currently serves as the Head of High Performance at the Korea Football Association.
The convention will also welcome Dr Michele Lastella, CommBank Junior Matildas Assistant Coach and senior lecturer at CQ University, and Professor Fabio Serpiello, Professor and Director of Sport Strategy at CQ University.
“I’m delighted that the return of the Queensland Football Convention in 2025 will be marked by such an impressive line-up of expert and insightful speakers,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“This year’s speakers bring world-class international experience that will inspire, challenge, and equip our football community with practical insights to benefit our clubs and our game.
“The convention is about more than just discussion – it is a chance for Queensland’s most devoted footballing minds to come together, learn from industry leading voices, build stronger networks, and help shape the future of our game.
“Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we unveil more exciting guest speakers for the 2025 Queensland Football Convention.”
Jeehoon Kim’s presentation will highlight the story of the ‘Made in Korea’ initiative, the Korean FA’s framework behind how Korea is redefining its football DNA and building a model for sustainable excellence from the inside out, while Fabio Serpiello will walk attendees through how to build a club-based football curriculum, teaching coaches to emphasise the ‘why’ behind every session.
The Queensland Football Convention will also provide a crucial forum for Football Queensland and CPR Group to present the key findings and recommendations formed through the collaborative Future Club+ consultation process with clubs from across the state.
