Socceroos star Tommy Oar is returning to Queensland with Brisbane Roar announcing the signing of the 24-year-old forward on a two and a half year deal.
Born on the Gold Coast, Oar began his career his career as a junior at Palm Beach SC before progressing through the Queensland Academy of Sport.
Joining the three-time Hyundai A-League champions marks a return to the club for Oar, who spent two seasons with Roar between 2008 and 2010.
Former teammate and now Brisbane Roar Football Operations Manager Craig Moore hailed the signing of the Australia international.
“Tommy is a quality player with a proven record in top-flight football,” Moore said.
“His signing continues Head Coach John Aloisi’s intentions to bring the best and brightest players to the club.”

Oar originally departed Brisbane for a successful stint at Dutch Eredivisie club FC Utrecht, where he scored 14 goals in 105 games, before a brief spell with English club Ipswich Town.
The former Hyundai A-League Young Footballer of the Year has won 34 caps for the Socceroos including appearances at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
