Player retention is vital to any sport and club and according to research from Football Australia, one of the main reasons players leave football is poor coaching.
Football Australia’s Club Coach Coordinator (CCC) program has been developed to address this challenge and provide relevant and valued coach support in a club environment.
Football Queensland encourages clubs to appoint a CCC to enhance the coaching and playing experience for all involved at the club.
Responsibilities of a Club Coach Coordinator include:
- Supporting a positive club coaching culture
- Working to actively recruit new coaches
- Mentoring and supporting club coaches
- Ensuring the coaches have access to learning opportunities and resources
FQ recently launched the Club Coach Coordinator (CCC) Guide to support the development of coaches around the state and enhance the experience for all involved in their local club. The Club Coach Coordinator Guide is a key part of FQ’s vision to provide enjoyable, high-quality participation experiences for players and coaches, and to unite football across the state.
Club Coach Coordinators must register each year with FQ to ensure assistance, support and guidance can continue to be provided.
