Football Queensland (FQ) is delighted to announce a partnership with Green Room Futures, who offer young student-athletes from Queensland the chance to study and play football in the United States of America.
Green Room Futures (GRF) is an Australian-based company that connects players with over 5,500 colleges and universities across the USA, providing the chance for young players to pursue their desired degree while continuing to play football, offering flexibility and support for both their academic and football aspirations.
“Football Queensland welcomes the partnership with Green Room Futures to provide diverse opportunities for young Queensland players to stay engaged in the sport after they finish their high school journey,” Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“This partnership offers an opportunity for Queenslanders to potentially enter the American collegiate system, and open new doors for them to experience the life of a student-athlete in America while pursuing an academic degree of their choosing and contribute to their personal and footballing growth.
“We look forward to working with Green Room Futures as we jointly deliver several evaluation sessions to provide interested Queensland players with the information and support needed to become a student-athlete.
“I would like to thank Green Room Futures for supporting the organisation and our young Queensland student-athletes through opportunities to remain engaged in the sport while pursuing studies in America.”
“We are proud to partner with a fantastic organisation like Football Queensland and to offer our streamlined services and access to collegiate education opportunities and scholarships for Queensland athletes in America,” Founder and Director Matt Wade said.
“This partnership will offer a diverse range of opportunities to students and players of all abilities, while also providing a lot of young adults with a life experience that is truly unforgettable!
“I want to thank Football Queensland for their trust and belief in the Green Room Futures program as their preferred US College Provider, as we work together in this partnership to provide access to potential study opportunities in the United States for Queenslanders as student-athletes. We are looking forward to being a part of the Queensland football community for many years to come.”
In collaboration with Football Queensland, Green Room Futures will host several evaluation sessions in May and June across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and Gold Coast, with additional regional sessions scheduled for August and September. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with GRF representatives and learn how their services will support them in their higher education and football aspirations.
The sessions will also explore the details and intricacies of the American college recruitment and scholarship processes for students, covering topics such as financial considerations, timelines, and step-by-step guidance on identifying suitable collegiate opportunities.
