Welcome to the fq academy state championships

Welcome to the FQ Academy State Championships, the pinnacle talent event of the year in Queensland and the final chapter in Football Queensland’s biggest-ever carnival delivery following the success of WinterFest and the FQ Junior Cup.

We’re excited to bring our community together once again for this year’s tournament at the South Pine Sports Complex, where the scale and service facilities of the venue allow us to deliver a full and structured match program while employing a holistic approach to player development.

The FQ Academy State Championships play a key role in Football Queensland’s long-term talent identification process, especially for our Under 13 players preparing for next season, when they are first recognised as state representatives. Held alongside the Emerging Socceroos Championships in Melbourne and the Emerging Matildas Championship state squad training camp, the tournament provides a clear snapshot of the player pathway in action and the future that lies ahead for Queensland’s top young talent.

This event also provides our technical staff with the opportunity to finalise selection for Queensland’s three Under 14 boy’s squads who will represent our state at the State of Origin Cup from 3 – 5 October on the Sunshine Coast as part of the Pacific Championships.

This year’s Championships will also welcome teams from FQ Academy League 3 and 4 teams as part of our commitment to expanding development pathways and providing more opportunities for players as they participate in a competitive FQ Academy carnival.

Over the course of the tournament, Gold, Platinum, Silver, and Bronze FQ Academy Cup winners will be crowned. While, the FQ Academy Metro players will compete for the honour of becoming FQ Academy Metro State Champions.

I’d like to wish our participants all the best for the FQ Academy State Championships and the FQ Academy Cup and I hope every family enjoys the hospitality of the beautiful City of Moreton Bay.

FQ Coaches Lab | Coaching Workshop

Creating a Positive Learning Environment on Game Day with focus on IDP

Following the Winterfest education event, this workshop is designed for coaches working within the FQ Academy Framework (U13-16 Boys and U14-15 Girls) attending the State Championships.

Workshops overall aim is to drive best practice and ensure that coaches across clubland are looking at game day as a development opportunity for their players.

The workshop will also facilitate opportunities for attending coaches to form peer mentorship partnerships, fostering continued collaborative learning throughout the event.

FA SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Spectators attending a Match or otherwise involved in any activity staged or sanctioned by Football Australia or an affiliate Member Federation, District Association or Club must:

1. Respect the decisions of Match Officials and teach children to do the same.

2. Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake.

3. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, race, colour, religion,

language, politics, national or ethnic origin.

4. Never use violence in any form towards another person including fellow spectators, Players or Match/Team Officials (including Coaches).

5. Not engage in acts of discrimination, harassment or abuse towards any person, including:

a. the use of obscene or offensive language and/or gestures;

b. the incitement of hatred or violence.

6. Comply with all Terms of Admission including provisions relating to security screening, intoxication, and items that are prohibited by law or restricted by policy from being brought into the Venue.

7. Not display, or attempt to display, the following items within the Venue:

a. National, political or racial flags or emblems except for the recognised National flags of the competing teams;

b. offensive or inappropriate banners in either English or a foreign language.

8. Never throw missiles, projectiles or objects of any description at Players, Match Officials or fellow spectators.

9. Not enter or attempt to enter the field of play or playing arena without lawful authority.

10. Refrain from any disorderly conduct or conduct that may injure the reputation and goodwill of Football Australia and the code of Football generally.

Any person who does not comply with this Spectator Code of Behaviour or who otherwise causes a disturbance may be evicted from the Venue and may be banned from attending future Matches.
