Welcome to the fq academy state championships
Welcome to the FQ Academy State Championships, the pinnacle talent event of the year in Queensland. We’re pleased to host this year’s tournament at the South Pine Sports Complex, where we can employ a holistic approach to working with our players as the size and the service facilities of the venue provide opportunities to host an appropriate match program.
Football Queensland utilises the FQ Academy State Championships to step through important stages of our long-term talent identification of Under 13 players preparing for next season, when they are first recognised as state representatives.
Our technical staff will also use this event to finalise Queensland’s three Under 14 boys state teams for the State of Origin Cup to be held between September 27 and 29 on the Sunshine Coast where our squads compete against other states.
Football Queensland is focused on delivering more development opportunities for players throughout the FQ Academy system, so we’re excited to welcome FQ Academy League 3 and 4 teams to the FQ Academy State Championships this year as they participate in a competitive FQ Academy carnival for the first time.
Gold, Platinum, Silver, Cobalt and Bronze FQ Academy Cup winners will be crowned during the tournament, while the highest placed regional centre will secure the title of FQ Academy Regional State Champions and FQ Academy Metro players will compete for a chance to become FQ Academy Metro State Champions.
At the back end of the week, our Queensland boys state teams will take over the South Pine Sports Complex for their first camp between July 4 and 6, while the girls state teams are already competing at the National Youth Championships this week in Melbourne.
I’d like to wish our participants all the best for the FQ Academy State Championships and the FQ Academy Cup and I hope every family enjoys the hospitality of the beautiful City of Moreton Bay.
