The Impact
Club Referee Program
“At first, I thought the JMFO course was just something the club wanted us to do, but it turned out to be really helpful. I understand the rules so much better now, and it’s made me a smarter player. Plus, I feel confident stepping in as a referee when the team needs me.”

The next wave of Queensland talent made their mark at the 2026 CommBank Emerging Matildas Championships 🌟
It was a huge week at the Home of the Matildas, with our #FQAcademy state squads taking on the nation’s best and showcasing the depth of football talent coming through Queensland. There were plenty of moments to be proud of across the championships, highlighted by U15 White charging all the way to the final and finishing runners‑up after a hard‑fought contest.
There were also plenty of standout individual performances across the tournament, with Charlotte Lacey named U15 Goalkeeper of the Tournament and Zoe Reader recognised as U16 Goalkeeper of the Tournament, both representing Football Queensland Maroon with distinction.
A massive thank you to the coaches, support staff and families who continue to back our players every step of the journey, this is only the beginning for this talented group.
📸 Check out some of the best moments from the championships.
