WHAT IS THE CHANGE?
Football Federation Australia has confirmed a reduction in the online registration transaction fee to the benefit of clubs and participants alike.
The fee applicable to payments processed through MyFootballClub has been reduced from a flat rate of 2.3% to 1.8%.
For example: instead of a participant paying $102.30 on a $100 registration fee, the current charge would now be $101.80.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Prior to registration opening for the 2017 outdoor season, FFA will implement a variable surcharging model.
The variable surcharging model will mean participants are charged at a rate (to be confirmed) based on the type of card used (i.e. credit card or debit card) during online payment.
Where clubs opt to absorb the transaction fee, the 1.8% flat rate will continue to apply. In this scenario, participants will see no change in the total payment required. Clubs, however, will receive a higher portion of the total registration fee payable than under the previous model.
HOW DOES MY CLUB BENEFIT FROM ONLINE PAYMENTS?
This year, over 90% of Queensland clubs enabled Online Payments. If your club hasn’t already done so, the off-season is the perfect time to complete the simple set-up process.
The reduced transaction fee is just one of the many benefits of MyFootballClub’s Online Payments facility.
For clubs, these include:
- Reduced strain on volunteer time
- Reporting tool allows payments to be viewed by individual, FFA number and invoice number
- Ability to set-up ‘add-on’ items to sell at the time of registration such as shorts, socks, etc.
- Less cash is held on your club’s physical premises
- Secure online payment gateway
- Simple set-up process requiring only a form to be completed with relevant bank details
