Following the huge success of the inaugural Girls United Social 6-a-side in Townsville, we’re pleased to confirm it’s back!
Girls United is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
Women and girls of all ability and experience levels are encouraged to participate in the social 6-a-side and is a great option for those who haven’t got the time to commit to the traditional training and game format of club football, or for those who want to build their skills and confidence before moving into a club football team.
The six-week social competition will take place at 1300SMILES Active Park on Tuesday nights from 18 October to 22 November 2022, with games and activities starting at 6:30pm.
This event is a first for the region and will allow women and girls to play football in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Both experienced players as well as women and girls who have never kicked a ball before are encouraged to get involved, so turn up as an individual or in a group and join the fun.

Program Details
Venue: 1300SMILES Active Park
Dates: 18 October – 22 November
Day: Tuesday nights for 6 weeks
Times: 6:30pm to 8pm
Cost: $50 per player (includes referee fee)
Age Groups: Women & girls aged 16+
Session Duration: 20 minute warm up focusing on fun and basic skills, followed by a game with 20-minute halves (5 minute half-time)
