Over 30’s Women’s Football, a Brisbane-based social competition recognised by Football Queensland, is welcoming new players to join in the fun ahead of its 11 March season kick-off.
Teams based in Brighton, Mitchelton, Narangba, Virginia, West End and Zillmere are now recruiting players for the third season of competition.
Mitchelton Football Club’s Brenda Mitchell was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Over 30’s Women’s Football competition and has high hopes for 2016.
“While there is an emphasis on the social side of the sport, teams have also developed a healthy rivalry and the standard of play is improving each season,” Mitchell said.
“Each team has players of all standards and we are looking forward to new players joining us again this season.”
The first two rounds of fixtures for the new season will take place before the Easter break.
Games will then continue after Easter until the July school holidays, before re-commencing until the Final Series concludes in September.
