Queensland’s State Team Metro squads both overcame tough opposition in a mixed day four at the FFA National Youth Championships for Boys in Coffs Harbour.
While results went against the state’s two Country outfits, both the U13 and U14 Metro teams added to their tallies.
The U14s made a bright start in the morning’s matches, scoring three times in the opening half-hour in a 4-2 win over Northern NSW Metro.
Ben Braunstorfer’s double did the bulk of the damage as the side recorded its second victory of the tournament.
It was the U13s turn to shine in the afternoon as Emad Ali-Sheme and Bavan Atwal scored in a 2-1 defeat of Northern NSW Metro.
All four Queensland teams conclude their campaigns with single matches on Friday.
