MEN | Sunshine Coast Wave v South Brisbane
Sunshine Coast Wave survived a roaring South Brisbane fightback to prevail 8-6 in a top-of-the-table clash and move two points clear in first.
With outright ladder leadership on the line, the home side jumped to a 2-0 lead inside five minutes before piling on a further four goals for a stunning 6-1 half-time lead.
South Brisbane chipped away at the deficit and recovered to within a single goal through Adam Stacey’s late flurry, but Sunshine Coast held their nerve and added a late eighth to secure three points.

South Brisbane eventually broke down a stubborn Sunshine Coast Wave side to take a patient 3-1 road win back to the capital.
The visitors looked set for a straightforward afternoon when Rebekah Horsey made it 1-0 in the 10th minute.
However, despite being without a point from the opening two rounds, Kirra Guy responded for Wave by capping a fine team goal shortly after the restart.
South Brisbane steadied and restored their lead when Sofie Persson’s run resulted in a second – credited as an own goal – although Sunshine Coast continued to prove tough opposition.
Persson did get her name on the scoresheet in the closing moments to make it three straight for the league leaders.

MEN | Bundaberg Wildcats v Arana United
Luke Leggett scored three goals to lead Bundaberg Wildcats into second spot with a thrilling 6-5 win over Arana United.
With South Brisbane beaten on the Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg had the chance to edge closer to the top and made the right early move with a third minute opener through Laurie Stephenson.
Leggett soon took charge of the match and, despite Arana putting away three second-half goals, the home side preserved their unbeaten home record by clinging on to the single-goal victory.
The Wildcats are now just two points shy of first, while United will hope to quickly turn encouraging signs into first points.

MEN | Redlands City v Peninsula Futsal Club
Redlands City notched their first win of the SEQ Futsal Premier League Men’s season as a four-goal first-half did the damage in a 5-2 defeat of Peninsula Futsal Club.
Paolo Valvoletti scored twice for the home side while James Egata also caught the eye with a thunderous free-kick.
Both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the second-half although only a goal apiece was scored, ensuring Redlands’ passage into the top four.
Aiden English and Steve Thomas netted for the visitors but it wasn’t enough to prevent Peninsula from falling to a third consecutive defeat.
