SEQ Futsal Premier League kicked off Season 2 over the weekend and the goals flew in across the league as teams jostled for early bragging rights.

MEN
Galaxy FC 4 – 4 Redlands City
Galaxy FC were buried 3-0 down at half-time, but came storming back in the second half to hold Redlands City to a 4-4 draw.
Rhys Buick was the chief architect behind Galaxy’s comeback, scoring two goals as Galaxy claimed a point in their SEQFPL debut.
James Egata scored two for Redlands, who must put this missed opportunity behind them when they host Sunshine Coast Wave next weekend.

Arana United 4 – 9 Peninsula Futsal Club
Peninsula raced out to a 4-0 half-time lead on their way to an impressive 9-4 win over Arana United.
Chris Culleton and Kelton Scriggins both notched first-half doubles to put Peninsula in an unbeatable position early in the contest.
Arana fought back in the second half as Barnabas Saijo grabbed a hat-trick, but Peninsula’s lead was never threatened.

Sunshine Coast Wave 6 – 3 Bundaberg Wildcats
Sunshine Coast Wave simply had too much attacking power for Bundaberg Wildcats, running away with a 6-3 win to open the campaign.
Wave scored three goals in as many minutes late in the first half to seize the momentum, and the Wildcats were never able to claw their way back into the game.
Corey Sewell and Jordan Vieira both picked up doubles to lead Wave to their win. The Sunshine Coast outfit can look towards back-to-back wins when they visitRedlands City next weekend.

WOMEN
Arana United 5 – 2 Peninsula Futsal Club
Ruth Blackburn ended this contest inside the opening five minutes, scoring a quickfire hat-trick to send Arana on the way to a comfortable 5-2 win.
Peninsula threatened to create drama when Taylah Brotherson made it 4-2 with four minutes remaining, but Blackburn popped up again late to seal the points for her side.
Arana will have a stern test next weekend against Galaxy FC, while Peninsula will lick their wounds during a bye week.

Galaxy FC 9 – 1 Redlands City
A massive Thais Stella outing led Galaxy FC past Redlands City 9-1 in a crushing opening day win for the Gold Coast side.
The match was still in the balance at half-time when the scoreboard read 2-0, but an avalanche of second-half Galaxy goals overwhelmed Redlands, despite a valiant effort from keeper Lateisha Wilkins.
Stella made up the bulk of Galaxy’s scoring with her four goals; the five other strikes were all claimed by different players.
