Football Queensland is excited to welcome Green Energy Queensland as our official Lighting and Solar Partner.
Green Energy Queensland was established in 2011 to combat rising electricity prices and initially focussed on household solar before growing its product range to include commercial solar, power purchasing agreements and both on-grid and off-grid LED Sports Field Lighting solutions.
The recent Statewide Facilities Strategic Plan Questionnaire pinpointed lighting as a key focus for clubs when planning for the future.
Green Energy Queensland understands the importance of lighting to clubs and will assist by offering free lighting and solar grant writing services to all Queensland clubs.
This service will help clubs plan for the future and secure important funding for facilities improvements.
Green Energy Queensland director Ashley Leighton is looking forward to working with grassroots clubs to lift football’s lighting and solar game across the state.
“This is a great opportunity for Green Energy Queensland to partner with FQ to help clubs eliminate one of their largest expenses, electricity,” said Leighton.
“With electricity prices rising every year by 10-15%, it is time football clubs joined the fight to eliminate their electricity bills.”
FQ CEO Geoff Foster believes Green Energy Queensland will prove to be a valued partner for Queensland football.
“This is an exciting time for football and Green Energy Queensland will be an integral part of the implementation of the Statewide Facilities Strategic Plan, helping to improve club facilities across the state.”
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Green Energy Queensland will donate $250 from every solar system purchased (residential or commercial), from now until end of March 2018, to the buyer’s nominated club.
