International Football Coaching Conference Australia (IFCCA) is pleased to announce Junior Matildas coach Rae Dower and Football Federation Australia’s Emma Highwood as panellists for this year’s conference on the Gold Coast.
Head Coach of the Junior Matildas since July 2017, Dower has also previously coached Canberra United in the Westfield W-League and currently works at Football Queensland as a QAS Coach Mentor.
Dower will be on stage for two IFCCA panels: ‘The growth of the Australian women’s game’ and ‘National youth teams, past and present – what have we learnt?’
“The women’s game is something I am very passionate about,” Dower said.
“This year marks 42 years that I have been involved in football and I feel very privileged to be able to share my experiences and advocate on the behalf of the game to help others.
“The opportunity to share knowledge with like-minded people at IFCCA is something I’m really excited about.”
Highwood is currently FFA’s Head of Community, Football Development and Women’s Football and has worked in game and club development positions and co-ordinated the organisation’s key game development partnerships.
She will be on a panel discussing ‘Being female and working in a male-dominant environment – fighting for equality, on and off the field’.
“Gender equality in football is a topic that is very important to me personally and is something at the forefront of today’s society,” Highwood said.
“With football being the largest participation sport in Australia, it is vital we continue to grow this area of the game and grow the awareness of this concept.
“I very much look forward to sharing the experience I have gained from working in the game here in Australia and abroad with the delegates at IFCCA.”
Stay tuned for more announcements on IFCCA keynote speakers, panellists and panel moderators.
