Each Match of the Round can be viewed on the FQ website, FQ Facebook page and the FQ YouTube channel, live and on demand.
NPL QUEENSLAND:
Only one point separates Gold Coast United and Olympic FC on the NPL ladder so there is plenty to play for when they face each other in Round 8 of the NPL Queensland this weekend.
Season so far:
Gold Coast United will be looking to recover after their four-game winning streak came to end with a draw in last weekend’s inaugural Gold Coast Derby against the Gold Coast Knights.
After Conor Smith’s sublime goal in the first half, scores were levelled with a second half Gold Coast Knights goal ensuring points had to be split.
Olympic have had a strong start to the season, winning four of their five matches to start their 2019 season.
It was a tough weekend for the club though, going down to ladder leaders Peninsula Power 5-1 in their Round 7 clash.
Last time they met:
It was a 2-2 draw when the two teams met in Round 19 last year, thanks to doubles from Olympic’s Jez Lofthouse and United’s Brandon Reeves.
Both teams will be looking for their key players to step up this weekend to secure the valuable three points.

NPLW QUEENSLAND:
Gold Coast United will take on Souths United in the Round 6 Match of the Round and with only one point separating these two teams on the NPLW ladder, they too have a lot to play for.
Season so far:
Gold Coast United will be on the hunt for another win, after winning their first two games of the season but then recording a draw in Round 3 and a loss in Round 4.
The team will also be keen to take to the field again and play some competitive football, after their game last week was washed out.
After the perfect start with two huge wins in their first two rounds, Souths were unable to keep their winning streak alive, losing their next two matches.
It was a disappointing week for Souths United as they went down to Capalaba 3-1 in Round 5, and they will be hoping to replicate their early performances as they try to get back in the winning books.
Last time they met:
Gold Coast United will go into this weekend with confidence knowing they came out on top last time the teams met each other in Round 23 of the 2018 season.
It was a goal each to Reiri Ono and Mackenzie Akins for Gold Coast United and a goal to Sofie Persson for Souths United, resulting in a close 2-1 match.

FQPL:
Capalaba will be searching for their first win of the season as they take on Ipswich Knights in the FQPL Round 4 Match of the Round.
Season so far:
With a less than ideal start, suffering a loss to Logan Lighting and Sunshine Coast Wanderers in their opening two matches, Capalaba will be looking to turn their season around this weekend.
They will be looking forward to taking to the field again after rain last weekend washed out their Round 3 clash.
For Ipswich Knights it’s been a mixed start to the season, defeating Southside Eagles in Round 1, recording a close loss to Holland Park Hawks in Round 3 and a draw against Wolves last week.
Wolves opened the scoring in the first half before Ipswich Knights equalised late in the second half from a Robbie Baker header.
Last time they met:
The two teams couldn’t be spilt last time they met in Round 19, walking away with one point each after a 3-3 draw.
If their last match is anything to go by, it could be another close one and only time will tell if they can be separated this time.
