FQPL returns for Round 11 this weekend

May 31, 2019

After a week off, the Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) is back for Round 11 this weekend.

Ipswich Knights will host Logan Lightning in the Match of the Round on Sunday, which can be viewed live and on demand on the FQ website, FQ Facebook and FQ YouTube channel.

The hosts come into the game off the back of some patchy form, having won two of their last five, while Logan Lightning are currently flying high on top of the ladder.

The ladder leaders remain undefeated after six games and come into Round 11 off the back of a dominant 8-0 win against Wolves FC.

Last time the two sides met in Round 8 of this year resulted in a 3-3 draw.

MATCH DETAILS:
Ipswich Knights v Logan Lightning
Sunday, 2 June, 3pm
Eric Evans Oval

Other key matches:

Capalaba FC v Mitchelton FC
Capalaba have lost only one of their last eight games, while Mitchelton come into the match having won three of their last four matches. Mitchelton currently sit just behind Capalaba on the ladder, so this is sure to be a competitive clash.

Wolves FC v Rochedale Rovers
Last time these two sides met in Round 8 of the FQPL earlier this month, each had to settle for a point after Wolves came back from 3-0 down to equalise in the dying moments of the game. Rochedale will be keen to secure all three points this week, having gone down to Capalaba in a disappointing 5-1 loss last week.

Players to watch:

Jed Brown (Logan Lightning): Brown has made Team of the Week for the last two rounds, and will come into this weekend off the back of scoring four goals in Round 10.

Liam O’Bryan (Capalaba FC): The Capalaba defender scored three goals last round against Rochedale, landing himself a spot in the Round 10 Team of the Week.

Emryn Donnelly-Fagan (Mitchelton FC): The midfielder often proves a threat to his opposition, scoring two goals last week to help his side to a 5-1 win.
