The Football Queensland (FQ) Community Cup kicked off on Sunday in Cairns, with teams from across the state travelling to compete in the state-wide tournament at Endeavour Park.

The second annual FQ Community Cup runs for seven days until Saturday, 6 July, providing opportunities for junior players and coaches from around Queensland to come up against other teams from across the state.

FQ General Manager, Competitions & Referees Craig Morris said the FQ Community Cup was part of FQ’s commitment to developing football in regional Queensland.

“The FQ Community Cup is a fantastic opportunity for players from across Queensland to compete against their peers from other regions at local representative level,” Morris said.

“As well as benefitting the players, the tournament is also a great platform for our young referees and coaches who will travel from around the state to be part of the event.”
