The FIFA Referees Committee has announced the appointment of all match officials including three Queenslanders to officiate at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil this year.
Chris Beath (Referee), Anton Shchetinin (Assistant Referee) and Ashley Beecham (Assistant Referee) have been selected to be part of a cohort of 77 referees officiating at the tournament.
This will be Shchetinin and Beechams first appointment to a FIFA World Cup tournament, whereas seasoned professional Beath is coming off his appointment as a video match official at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France earlier this year.
Football Queensland (FQ) congratulates the three Queensland match officials on their appointments and wishes them the best of luck at the tournament.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil takes place between 26 October and 17 November 2019.
