The conclusion of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland regular season saw Premiers confirmed in all age groups over the weekend.
First Grade NPL Premiers: Lions FC
In an impressive feat, Lions FC claimed their second consecutive NPL Queensland Premiership this year, recording 24 wins out of 28 matches.
Under 20 NPL Premiers: Brisbane City
Brisbane City were crowned Under 20 NPL Queensland Premiers after a 1-0 win against SWQ Thunder in the final round of competition on the weekend, finishing the season just one point ahead of Brisbane Roar Youth’s Under 20 side.
Under 18 NPL Premiers: Eastern Suburbs
Eastern Suburbs claimed the Under 18 NPL Queensland Premiership, finishing the regular season six points ahead of second-placed Peninsula Power and recording 18 wins throughout the 2019 season.
Under 16 NPL Premiers: Lions FC
Lions FC were crowned Premiers in the Under 16 NPL Queensland after securing 22 wins from 26 games, ending the regular season two points ahead of Brisbane City FC.
Under 14 NPL Premiers: Moreton Bay United
Locked with Gold Coast United on 60 points leading into the final round of competition, Moreton Bay United were crowned Under 14 NPL Queensland Premiers after recording a 5-3 win over Western Pride on the weekend, while Gold Coast United finished in second after a draw in Round 26.
Under 13 NPL Premiers: Brisbane City
Brisbane City’s Under 13 NPL Queensland side came into the final round of competition three points behind SWQ Thunder in second spot, but a 4-0 win in Round 26 saw City secure the Premiership on goal difference.
