Football Queensland (FQ) would like to invite clubs, teams, and individuals in the Mackay area to contribute to telling the story of women’s football in Queensland.
Dr Lee McGowan will visit the Dudley Denny City Library this Friday, 11 October at 5:30pm to give a presentation on his digital community project with the ball at Her feet, which showcases the history of women’s football in Queensland dating back almost 100 years.
Lee will also be searching for stories, photos and memorabilia from the Mackay community to add to the remarkable archival history of women’s football in Queensland.
with the ball at Her feet seeks to bring together old, established and new stories, artefacts and memorabilia of the Brisbane football community, formulating a treasure trove of history showcasing the heritage of football to not only the rest of the State, but nationally.
The aim of the project is to have the Queensland women’s football community tell its own story by gathering club, team and individual contributions and sharing them with a broader audience. In doing so, with the ball at Her feet will continue to grow.
